In May 2016, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service published a report about Nurjigit, a six-year-old boy whose disability kept him from walking or attending school. Viewers who were moved by his story, including a government minister, responded with assistance, giving Nurjigit a new chance to walk and learn.
