I bought a civilian version of the Sig Sauer P320 M17, I quickly became disappointed that Sig Sauer was opaque in the differences between the civilian and military version of the M17. This disappointment came to a head when the new M17 optic came out, and I learned that you wouldn't be able to mount it on the civilian version. I felt like I missed out of the commemorative and surplus M17s as well. However, two weeks ago, I was in a gun shop and saw the compact M18 version and to my surprise, it had military markings. Well, after searching online for a week, I found a M17 military model at MSRP. Who knows if Sig Sauer will keep making them, but if they are going to be sold without the ridiculous markup, I think you should get one if you missed out before.
