A 46-year-old man from Pakistan named Asif Raza Merchant has been arrested by the US authorities and jailed in New York for allegedly plotting political assassinations on American soil, including that of former President Donald Trump. The Federal Bureau of Investigation says that Merchant's plan was straight out of the Iranian playbook as he had spent some time Iran before arriving in the US from Pakistan in April.
