Shadow Warrior from the Apogee and 3D Realms is the classic FPS title released back in 1997, that got refreshed in 2013 as the Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. Our main protagonist in this game is the Chinese-Japanese assassin called Lo-Wang, previously working for the Oroshi Zilla. After learning that Master Zilla wants to use the demons from the "Dark Side of The Realm", he decides to turn against his former Master and army of darkness. The monster variety in Shadow Warrior is not huge as in Doom II, but they are really nasty and tough to defeat, even the first episode can kick your butt. For instance, the Shadow Ninjas will ruin your day and they appear since the first level, they can kill Lo Wang in ONE NASTY ACCURATE FIREBALL to his face. Shadow Ninjas are by far your the worst danger in "Enter The Wang" episode, they tend to blend in dark areas, they are really hard to spot in caves or dark rooms and love to use Flash Grenades. Levels in Shadow Warrior are also full of invisible jumping skull mines that release caltrops or blind you with their explosion, really annoying surprises against you. Hornets and these damn Ghosts are also quite annoying to fight, they love to dodge and hide, also their hitboxes are quite so small (just look how does it look to shoot at these small hornets). This game also features a big variety of items to use, you will love the Smoke grenades that can partially hide you from the demons, and the Gas grenades will help you in lots of situations. As for the weapons, they might be quite difficult to control at the beginning, the Riot Gun and Uzis require some practice to master, you will lose lots of ammo first before fully controlling them. The ammo at the beginning is quite scarce, especially for the Grenade and Missile Launchers, try to conserve these for such monsters like Coolies or bigger groups of Ninjas. Weapons also have the secondary fire modes, for example you can use the NUCLEAR WARHEAD in your Missile Launcher or shoot 4 shells with your mighty Riot Gun!
