You never forget your first visit. When Islands of Adventure opened up just the year before, this was known as the next best thing. So much so a bunch of us Disney nerds were convinced it was the best theme park in the country. It might have been that new theme park smell hitting us hard but it was actually pretty amazing. We didn't even go into Universal Studios Florida, just hit up IOA in this week long WDW trip. It was something we knew we had to leave Disney for and check out, which is exactly why they built it. So much has changed in 21 years at this park. Glad I happened to video tape a lot of it. Shout out to whoever was playing that role in the Dr Suess restaurant, he seriously made our day and we quoted him for the rest of the trip. These were the best times, the definition of "good ol' days".
