Today, we're going to be reviewing Part Number BUL23C24B. This is the LED Backup Light from Optronics. It's going to be a white reverse light with a clear lens. It is certified for backup light function when installed as a pair in a 2-lamp system. It's going to feature the long-lasting LEDs that are going to be great replacements for incandescent lights. It's also going to feature a multi-diode design that's going to optimize your light output, and you don't have to worry about replacing any bulbs or brittle filaments. The LED system is more efficient, so it's going to provide a brighter light while using less power.
This unit is designed for 24-volt systems. It's going to feature a sealed, waterproof, 1-piece, molded plastic housing with a durable lens. It's got a corrosion-resistant design. Here on the back, you're going to notice a 3-prong connection. Now, this light only calls for your standard, 2-prong plug that's going to be sold separately.
It calls for the 2-prong connection since it only uses one function which is going to be the reverse light, and then the other connection for the 2-prong plug is going to be your ground connection. Don't let the 3-prong connection here at the back of the housing confuse you. Optronics uses that on all of their lights that are similar to this instead of making a specific 2-prong plug. It has a 3-prong connection but it only calls for a need of the 2-prong plug. If you need one of those, you can pick those up right here at etrailer.com. You can get a Straight Angle Plug with Part Number A45CB, or a Right Angle Plug with Part Number A49PB. It is Department of Transportation compliant, so it needs FMVSS 108 requirements in any 360-degree position.
It's a nice, round light, giving us an overall diameter of 4-5/16", with an overall depth, including the connection point at the back, of right at 2". It's going to contain 27 diodes with a power draw of 0.108 amps at 28 volts. It has a flush mount installation with a mounting grommet that's sold separately with Part Number A45GB. We're going to go hook it up to our external power source, that way, you can see what it looks like with power running to it, and with our overhead lights turned off. We have our 2-prong straight angle connection plug right here. We're going to plug that into the connection points.
All we got to do is line up the prongs, push it in, and you can see, with it connected, it's going to cover up that third connection point to keep any dirt and grime out. When we activate the reverse function, it's going to send out a nice, consistent LED signal. You can see that it has all 27 diodes functioning perfectly, providing a nice, white, bright light coming through that clear lens. It's also got a really quick response time. That's going to complete today's review of Part Number BUL23C24B. This is the LED Backup Light from Optronics. .
