I went on my first hot air balloon ride in wine country Temecula California. This was not too far from San Diego. Temecula is about 50 minutes north of San Diego. Our ride was during February, so the grape vines are in dormant state; no greens. Temecula has more than 50 wineries to go wine tasting!

My first thought of the hot air balloon was... not so pleasant. I am not too fond of high places. But since it was for my wife's birthday, I was sort of forced to go.

However, I'm glad we did! It was a very calming experience. It was not scary one bit! The take off and landing was so nice and easy. Watching the sun rise from the hot air balloon is an experience that one needs to have at least once a lifetime!

We booked our stay at the Carter Estate Winery and Resort in Temecula, California. The hot air balloon ride is part of a package deal that came with the one night stay at the resort.
After the hot air balloon ride, we ate brunch at Toast; the restaurant. Most of the restaurants and eateries were about 10 min drive from all the winery and resort.
