Learn how to make your own DIY concrete urn planter from beginning to end in this video. Learning how to make a concrete urn planter is a great project for working with concrete as a hobby as this is something that would normally cost an appreciable amount of money to buy. Making a concrete urn planter, even a tall concrete urn planter like this, costs only pennies on the dollar versus buying one - plus you can make it any shape, size and color that you want!
Video 6 - In this final video we are adding a layer (two layers) of acrylic water based concrete sealer to this concrete urn. This will help to preserve the color that we have added as well as help the concrete itself to be less water permeable. This will result in a longer lasting concrete product. This urn would be suitable for outdoor use and very likely would survive even freezing winter temperatures without breaking however if you want the urn to look as good as possible and last as long as possible then avoid freezing temperatures by taking this concrete urn inside during the winter. Reapply concrete sealer ever 2 to 3 years for maximum longevity.
