These easy and very tasty cake pops are great for birthdays, kids parties or fans of kirby.
Ingredients:
1. 1 box butter cake mix (or any of your choice)
2. Cream cheese "Philadelphia"
3. Pink color candy melts
4. Different color writing icing (blue, black, white, red and pink writing icing)
5. Pink color tic-tac
6. Red color mini M & M's
7. Lollypop sticks, toothpicks, Styrofoam or floral block
Method:
1. Mix and bake butter cake mix according to instructions on the box. Let completely cool.
2. Into a large bowl break up the butter cake mix, add enough cream cheese to hold mixture together (when roll mixture into ball and it stay in shape that mean you add enough cream cheese). (If you like use different cake mix or homemade cake and add small amount of frosting or melted white chocolate to bond mixture together). Roll the mixture into round walnut size balls, and place on plate or baking tray line with non-stick baking paper. Continue until all the mixture in gone.
3. Melt pink candy melts in the microwave. Dip lollypop stick about 2 cm into melted candy melts and insert in prepared cake balls half way. Place in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to set and harden.
4. To melt candy melts: put about 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening (like copha) or crisco; (if use vegetable oil then place together with candy melts and heat together with intervals, stir and heat again until candy melts is melted ) in the microwave bowl, heat for 30 seconds, stir, and heat again for 30 seconds to melt completely. Proportion is 1 tablespoon of vegetable shortening for half bag of candy melts.
5. Dip each cake pop in prepared melted candy melts, drain excess and insert into Styrofoam or floral block. Once set and harden; apply small amount of melted candy melts using toothpick on two sides of cake pop and attach two pink tic-tacs for arms; then apply small amount of melted candy melts using toothpick onto bottom part of cake pop and attach two red mini M&M's for little feet. To decorate: use different color writing icing: blue, black and white for the eyes; red writing icing for the mouth; pink writing icing for cheeks.
