Tesla may have a compact car in the works coming out of its Shanghai Gigafactory. This vehicle could be the $25,000 Tesla that Elon Musk has been planning to create at the new design center in China. In order to hit such a low price point, Tesla has the option of using its 4680 battery cells along with Lithium Iron Phosphate battery chemistry. On the other hand there have been rumours of Tesla sourcing from BYD, their Chinese competitor, which is able to make batter packs below $100 per kWh according to reports.
