This Earth Week virtual press event will showcase the prevention of wasted food and food rescue grantees. Grant funding was approved by MN legislature in 2019. The event will be looking at these grant stories through a climate change lens, as well as food security.
Preventing wasted food can save up to 20 times GHG than composting the same amount.
We are presently not on track to meet our MPCA strategic plan goal to reduce food waste from households and businesses by generating less and rescuing and recycling more.
