The beach clean-up initiative started by environmentalist Afroz Shah in the year 2015 has gained momentum in the last three years with thousands of volunteers volunteering in the clean-up every weekend. As India hosted the 45th World Environment Day this year, the official launch of the programme happened on Sunday at Versova beach where thousands took oath to support the environment and reduce plastic usage in their lives.
