The new Acting Managing Director and Board Members of the Northeast Development Commission have assumed office in Maiduguri pending confirmation by the Senate.
This comes after the expiration of the former administration's tenure on 7th of May.
President Muhammadu Buhari issued a directive for immediate resumption of operations to ensure that there was no leadership vacuum within the Commission.
The Acting Managing Director, Umar Hashidu, thanked President Buhari for his confidence in the team to run the commission at a critical time of recovery in the Northeast.
