As the much-awaited 2023 general election in Nigeria draws closer by the day, political parties will be presenting their candidates to Nigerians for the sole purpose of electing a successor to President Muhammadu Buhari. But as the elections build-up, there have been two recurring issues - zoning and the insistence of the south-east to clinch the presidential tickets, especially in the two leading political parties, namely, the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress.
