As of December 26, 2024, there have been no new announcements regarding salary and allowance increases for government employees in Pakistan. The most recent adjustments were implemented earlier this year. In the federal budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, presented in June 2024, the government announced the following changes:
Salary Increases:
Employees in Basic Pay Scales (BPS) 1 to 16 received a 25% increase in their basic pay.
Employees in BPS 17 to 22 received a 20% increase in their basic pay.
Pension Increase:
A 15% increase in pensions was granted to retired federal government employees.
Minimum Wage:
The minimum monthly wage was raised from Rs. 32,000 to Rs. 37,000.
These adjustments were officially notified by the Ministry of Finance in July 2024 and have been in effect
No further increases have been reported since then.
It's worth noting that prior to these adjustments, in June 2023, the government had increased salaries by up to 35% for employees in BPS 1 to 16 and by 30% for those in BPS 17 and above. Pensions were also increased by 17.5% at that time.
