It's Small Business Saturday and Nickie Aiken celebrated the incredible small business on the doorstep of our part of Westminster.
Visiting St John's Wood with Abbey Road Councillors Caroline Sargent and Amanda Langford, Nickie championed the array of small businesses on offer.
Celebrating the day, Nickie exclaimed,
"Today I'm in St John's Wood with local councillors Caroline Sargent and Amanda Langford. As the former Leader of Westminster City Council, I know about the vibrant neighbourhoods across Westminster like St John's Wood. And on Small Business Saturday we are celebrating all the amazing small businesses that are the real heartbeat of the Two Cities.
Abbey Road Councillor, Caroline Sargent commented,
"We're so lucky here. We've got loads of independent boutiques and cafés. We've just visited a new one opening up on Blenheim Terrace with some wonderful independent restaurants. We’ve also got some lovely little coffee shops on Nugent Terrace, so it's really lovely here."
Abbey Road Councillor, Amanda Langford explained,
"We are huge supporters of the small businesses here in Abbey Road Ward. We find it's really important to keep the vibrancy of the community, and the economy going, and it just creates that sort of community and brings people into the area, it's so important and we're here to support them."
Nickie added,
"Excellent. So on Small Business Saturday and every day of the week, please do support your small businesses, whether it's shops, whether it's barbers, beauty salons, cafés, or restaurants. They are the heartbeat of your neighbourhood."
