Fisher-Price has announced a recall of over 2 million Snuga Swing baby products. The decision was made after confirming a suffocation risk following the deaths of five infants who passed away while sleeping in the swing. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warned that the swing should never be used for sleep and that no additional bedding should be added, as the headrest and body support parts increase the risk of suffocation. Consumers are advised to immediately remove these parts, and those who do so will receive a $25 refund. However, CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. criticized the measure as insufficient, calling for a full product recall and a complete refund for customers. Fisher-Price has previously recalled other baby swings, such as Rock 'n Play Sleepers, but infant deaths occurred even after two previous recalls.
