Animal Actors on Location is a comedy show featuring live animal stars like dogs, cats, birds, otters, pigs, and even a skunk. The animal stars are trained to perform a number of different tricks and stunts. Some of these tricks are the types of things that may be in demand on a movie set.

The animal line-up changes from time to time, but almost always features at least a few animal actors from familiar movies. Some examples include the dogs from Marley and Me and Men In Black and the bird from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Experienced trainers serve as hosts and guide the animals from the show.

The stage show takes place in an outdoor area that is covered by a canopy. After the show, guests are invited to meet and greet (and pet) some of the animals from the show - primarily the dogs.

Animal Actors on Location replaced another live animal stage show called Animal Planet Live, which closed in 2006. Animal Planet Live was inspired by the Animal Planet television channel; it replaced Animal Actors Stage, the very first live animal show at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Feedback from people who've seen the show:

A fun show for people of all ages (especially kids). In my opinion it's a lot better than the Stunt Show and not quite as good as the over-the-top Water World show. I also really liked that most of the animals were rescues and that they urged the audience that they should always adopt from their local humane society or shelter.


Very fun show. Amazing what animals they can train. No need to arrive too early. All seats are good.

I love animal actors universal JD

I loved watching all the animals do their thing. My favorite was the dog named Cheddar. The owls were beautiful and starred in movies like Harry Potter! Very cute show.
