Found during construction of the first terminals in Mexico City and left undisturbed, the subway was built around it for admiration. Its one of the manifestations of Quetzalcóatl represened for the winds part of the four directions of the universe -North East south west/wind water fire earth. Shes normally represented by a male human image, with a red bird mask & long beak sometimes with fangs & a beard.
