Robert Morris Gateway Church News Update $100 Million Dollar Lawsuit Filed Over Tithe Money. Gateway church is one of Americas largest churches with over 100,000 members attending at all campuses. Well back in June it’s the story broke out that their founding Pastor Robert Morris was involved in clergy abuse with a woman named Cindy Clementine who was 12 years old at the time. Robert Morris was a young married pastor at the time of the situation. Well Gateway Church finds itself in hot water again. A $100 Million lawsuit is accusing Gateway Church of Committing Fraud with Members’ Tithe Money. A group of members with Gateway Church have filed a class action lawsuit, alleging that the church fraudulently claimed it was giving 15% of members’ tithe to global missions, but didn't. The suit states, Gateway should have been giving away a minimum of $15 million a year to global missions, since the church had annual revenue around $100 million. However, the suit claims Gateway hired a “seasoned CPA” to oversee its global ministries in July 2011. And during his tenure, which ended in 2014, “he never observed the Global Ministries fund give away more than $3 million in any year,” the suit states. This all started because a gateway member and volunteer named Valentina Hansenat demanded more transparency from leadership on several issues including the Robert Morris allegations and financial integrity. Gateway church revoked Valentinia Hansenat membership with armed guards booting her from property. Another issue in the class actions lawsuit is because Gateway Church did not honor their money back guarantee on tithe money which was stated from pulpit several times by Robert Morris.
