For many of WA’s small racing clubs, the races are more than just the horses, but a chance for the whole community to get together. This was evident once again when The Races WA Roadshow visited Mount Magnet at their annual race meeting.

The town is located 560km northeast of Perth and is well-known for its gold mining and pastoral history. The Mount Magnet Race Club consists of many volunteers and committee who reside on nearby stations, and all come together to ensure the towns biggest event is run successfully.

Cup Day is one of the very few social events to take place in this outback town. It is an opportunity for locals and visitors to dress up and spend time with family and friends, all while enjoying a day of live entertainment and racing.
