Kannur: The CPM will today take out a march against ‘attempts to make Keezhattoor a conflict-prone area and to malign the region’s reputation’. The party will form a ‘public protection committee’ on Saturday for the purpose. The committee will be announced by CPM state Secretariat member M V Govindan. Following this, a march will be taken out to Thaliparamba with the support of the public. Police will also maintain vigil for the ‘Vayalkili’ march scheduled on Sunday. Tight security will be arranged by the police in Keezhattoor in view of the protest march. District police chief Siva Vikram and DySP K V Venugopal will oversee the security arrangements.
