The question is simple. Can you clean cast iron with soap. The quick and honest answer is yes. Do I recommend it to everyone, every time for everything thing. Not even close. Once you have mastered how to season and reseason cast iron properly then it allows you to be flexibility when cleaning cast iron. Using soap is not necessarily a myth, but has its time and place. If you struggle with cleaning and maintaining cast iron, reach out so we can help. Oh do NOT use soap unless you feel comfortable with re seasoning it.
