Tried to find a valve adjustment tool for the 2zz Motor. When I finally found one it was almost $300 and they wouldn't have one for at least two months. So I decided to try to make one.
It works great, one thing I need to change. To use it on an engine that is in a car, I'm going to have to change the angle of the handle or shorten it.....
I put a tape measure next to it at the start of the video so you get some idea of the size.....
I determined the height of the pin that holds the springs down while you change the shim by pressing the spring down far enough so I thought I could get the shim out , then I just marked it and drilled it.....
The pipe that goes over the spark plug tube should be a real close fit. or the whole tool will rock when you put pressure on the valve springs. I had to shim mine a little.....
(Not the steadiest video but I did it holding my phone in one hand and trying to work with the other.)
