2008 Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTI Timing belt and water pump change

step by step
1. Jack up drivers side and remove wheel
2. remove air box
3. remove engine cover
4. support engine with jack
5. remove chassis to engine bracket mount
6. remove drive belt
7. remove drive belt idler pulley
8. remove engine mount bracket from engine
9. remove blank from front bottom left side of cam cover ( view from facing front of engine bay)
10. insert special tool to lock cam shaft
11. remove crank pulley (RIBE M9 bit required) 4 bolts
12. turn engine via crank sprocket with 19mm socket (clockwise) when you hear the loud click of special tool spring plunger hitting cam shaft the crank sprocket will lock in position
13. Mark crankshaft sprocket with paint pen
14. Mark camshaft sprocket with paint pen
15. remove timing belt tensioner
16. remove belt (be care full now as crank can now move but cam shaft cannot)
17. remove timing bekt idler pulley (if replacing)
18. if replacing water pump drain coolant and remove and replace water pump
19. fit new belt, only to fuel booster pump, c sprocket and crank
20. make sure front side ie non tensioner side is taught
21. push belt over water pump and idler pulley
22. fit tensioner and set tension
23. check paint marks on crank and cam shaft sprockets are still aligned
24. remove special locking tool
25. crank engine over a few rotations with 19mm socket
26. if all smooth refit everything above in reverse
27. REMEMBER TO REFILL COOLANT
