Today’s video is about understanding greenhouse light plans, vertical farm lighting design, and artificial lighting for greenhouse farming. Hort Americas offers free light plans to help you plan your indoor farming lighting. We know that it can be confusing, so Karla García helps explain why you might need one, what they help with, and what kind of information we need to get it going.
Today we will discuss the importance of a lifeline in indoor production systems. Light selection is a very important decision when growing in indoor systems, but not only lamps are important. We should also look for a good lamp distributor, providing a complete service to help you on the success of your projects. Of course, there are aspects from the lamps that are important such as the quality, warranty, and efficiency. If you are looking to learn all the aspects to select your lamp, we invite you to watch our video about lighting options. There, you will learn about all the important aspects to evaluate before selecting your lamp.
Let's focus on the lamp provider. We can have an excellent lamp, but if you don't have the number of features required to meet the necessities of your crop, or the light uniformity is really poor, this can ruin your project, affecting the development of your plant. At Hort Americas, we offer a full service, including a lifeline for your project. We will work with all the specifications about your grow room to provide a lamp distribution and also the advice on management to deliver the correct light intensity and uniformity to your crops. We have several options on light quality, so by knowing the crop of your interest, we can also provide recommendations on light quality. But how can you request a light plan with us? You can easily request a live plan with us in our web page at [ Ссылка ]
You can select the lamp of your interest for production. The best option we have for top lighting is the L1000 grow light from current by GE. For vertical farming projects, we now can offer the new lamp GE Arize Lynk2. Once you select the lamp of your interest, on the description you will find the link. Request a lifeline there and you will be asked to fill out a form with the specifications about your project. For indoor farming, there are two different options for growing systems. Top lighting for big crops such as cannabis, or vertical farming systems. For vertical farming systems, the most common crops are leafy greens, but you can also grow transplants in this kind of system.
The success of a greenhouse depends on the right light plan. Greenhouses generate better yields but an appropriate lighting should be applied to them. The requirements for a light in this case are very different than what you would find in general house’s setup because it needs to be based on plants' solar cycle during the day and last time they were allowed out of their area, with the rare exceptions built-in lights are used like a grocery store or warehouse where fewer care is required and generically cost effective with 15 Square Feet of L Lumen's per 1462 CFM suiting the vast majority of smaller structures.
There has been a lot of research done in recent years on the importance of achieving correct light levels in greenhouses and rotating greenhouses. If you want to know more about the light plans for greenhouses and vertical farms, and are curious about how this can affect crop yields, then this video is for you.
