A 22 year old man has been remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to multiple charges linked to domestic abuse.
Peninsula Heights resident Nathan Watson appeared at the Magistrates' Court and denied all six counts.
Three of these relate to strangling the alleged victim, with one charge of making threats to kill.
He is also charged with Actual Bodily Harm. He is said to have punched the woman, leaving an injury to her lip.
He pleaded not guilty to an additional assault charge against another complainant.
The offences are said to have been committed between April and last week.
The prosecutor described the allegations as 'serious, serious matters', pointing to the escalating incidents as a 'concerning' trend.
The Lay Bench felt there was a substantial risk of re offending and denied his request for bail.
Mr Watson was granted legal aid, with the case adjourned until next week.
