I clean my track using a fluid as it is non-abrasive. I prefer this to using track rubbers, although I do own some of those too in case of stubborn marks. But by cleaning my track each time I use it I find Surgical Spirit does the trick. I also add this to my Dust Monkeys under wagons. These clip on underneath and clean the track as they go around. Normally they are used dry. The foam pad does the cleaning.
I also look at my In/Out Thermometer. This measures temperatures inside and outside (using a sensor on a lead) of my shed. I can see how quickly my two oil fired radiators are doing then.
I collect totems if I can whenever I visit a railway, as a keepsake. I also collect a piece of ballast.
I have a totem made for Calverton and that sits on the wall nicely. Along with an LNER gate sign.
Internet search 'Calvertfilm'.
