This video shows off the many efforts being made to improve recycling efforts at Illinois Football Game Days in 2024.
"Fighting Illini, Fighting Waste" is a collaboration between the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, Facilities & Services, and the Institute for Sustainability, Energy & Environment. On Tailgate Recycling game days, volunteers will help educate and inform tailgaters in Grange Grove and Lot 31, specifically encouraging them to recycle their bottles and cans via designated recycling bins and/or the use of blue recycling bags. For the third straight season, volunteers will be on hand in Grange Grove and adjacent parking lots at two Illini games this fall to help fans recycle as many plastic bottles and aluminum cans as possible! The Tailgate Recycling Events are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12, when the Illini host Purdue, and Saturday, Nov. 16, for the Michigan State matchup.
