It has been 25 years since the break-up of the Soviet Union and one of the states marking its independence is Kyrgyzstan.
The small, mainly Muslim nation in Central Asia has seen two revolutions, and is now politically stable.
But as Andrew Simmons reports from Bishkek, that has not stopped hard times from falling upon the country.
