The Indonesian Army of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia, "TNI") came out as the overall CHAMPION of the Australian Army of Skill Arms at Meeting (AASAM 2019) held in Puckapunyal Military Range, Victoria, Australia from the 26th of March until the 2nd of April 2019.
The Indonesian Army has been proudly winning the competition for 12 times in a row since the first time they participated in this event. The Indonesian Army Contingent in AASAM 2019 was led by Major Morison Chandra Karundeng, from the 1st Infantry Division, Kostrad. In this prestigious event, the Indonesian Army contingent consists of 12 shooters competing consisting of 6 soldiers from Kostrad, 3 commandos from Kopassus, 1 soldier from Hasanudin Military Territorial Command, 1 soldier from Jayakarta Military Regional Command, 1 soldier from Mulawarman Military Territorial Command, and other officials.
The Indonesian Army achieved 21 gold medals, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals in various contested shooting competitions, both teams and individuals. The second place was achieved by the host country, the Australian Army.
