Hey folks! Welcome to GrowCookPreserve--I'm Kelly. In this video, I spent the day preserving a generous batch of fresh peaches from a friend. After enjoying their sweet and juicy goodness, I got to work preserving this summer bounty.
First, I made a classic low-sugar peach jam with a twist of ginger and lemon zest, perfect for toast or pastries. Then, I created a spicier version by swapping sugar for honey and adding cayenne peppers. The honey and peach flavors blend beautifully, with the heat providing a warm finish without overpowering.
I didn’t let the scraps go to waste—lemon, ginger, and peach were infused into white wine vinegar, and I also made peach ACV and some delightful peach rum! With leftover hot honey jam, I crafted a vibrant salad dressing using my strawberry vinegar and toasted sesame oil. The result was so delicious, I could practically drink it!
This peach-filled day was full of flavor and creativity on the homestead, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
