(1 Apr 2015) Lawyers representing two Australian drug convicts presented arguments to a court on Wednesday in their latest attempt to prevent their clients from being executed.
They allege that President Joko Widodo's decision to reject their pleas for clemency failed to assess their rehabilitation.
The two convicted drug traffickers, Andrew Chan, 31, and Myuran Sukumaran, 33, are being held at a prison off Indonesia's main island of Java, ahead of appeals against their scheduled execution.
On Wednesday, the head judge adjourned the case until April 6 when he said he would give his final ruling.
A Jakarta court last month dismissed an appeal by the two Australians, ruling that clemency is a prerogative of the president.
Authorities had previously indicated the execution of the men was imminent.
However Indonesia has recently hinted that the execution of 10 drug smugglers, nine of them foreigners, may not happen in the near future because some of them have legal appeals pending.
