Rajasthan, India's largest state, underwent seven name changes.
- In 1947, Rajputana was fragmented, taking 8.5 years to unify.
- In the first stage, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dholpur, and Karauli formed the Matsya Union.
- In the second stage, nine states and two thikanas formed the Rajasthan Union.
- In the third stage, Udaipur joined, forming the United States of Rajasthan.
