In our sixth Zoo Cast, we look at how zoos have been coping with the beast from the east. No, it's not a newly arrived animal! - we're talking about the big freeze the UK has been experiencing. Some animals have liked exploring the snow, while others weren't that impressed with the cold, white, wet stuff. How does the cold effect the keepers and their work? Plus why are hosts Julie and Jenny so overdressed?
We have wonderful images of animals at Marwell zoo in the snow, and we look at how Paignton zoo found an innovative way to warm their baboons up. The tigers at ZSL London zoo the tigers wer puzzled by the frozen precipitation. The red pandas at Bristol Zoo and Drusillas Park were relishing the conditions, which mimic those of their natural habitat - and they have special adaptations to cope with cold. We finish off with Drusillas Park's celebration of World Book Day.
