The renowned ore carrier Arthur M Anderson takes center stage in this episode along with master model maker Russ Mamare of Huron, Ohio.
I commissioned Russ to build a 1:16 scale replica of the Anderson based on Pittsburg Steamship Company's 1952 original blueprints. When I travelled to Huron to pick it up in person, Russ and I discussed what inspired him to take up the craft, his model making process, and the Anderson's unique history and inextricable ties related to the loss of the Edmond Fitzgerald in November 1975.
