My thoughts on what you need to be considering in your planning, equipment list and achieving your challenge of a long distance walk.
This video is aimed at
Points to consider in your planning and preparation stage.
Tips and ideas on items you need and equipment to use.
Potential challenges and how to overcome them.
A long distance walk or ‘through hike’ is a world away from hiking particularly if you are going to be wild camping.
That’s not a negative start. I believe its the nature of the activity and I particularly enjoy all the elements of putting together your plans and preparations to hopefully achieving your challenge.
Aim of this video is to identify the unique differences between walking/hiking over a day or two, camping out overnight compared to being self sufficient over a number of days including walking ,eating and making your shelter every night including identifying appropriate locations.
I have purposely left out two important elements of
1. training and
2. how to find those pitching spots
for other videos to give them the attention they deserve.
These are my thoughts and views on long distance walking. I make no claim to be an expert but wanted to start a ‘points to consider’. I’m sure I will have missed out some others “nuggets of gold”. If you can think of anything please put a comment. It can only add and help others to come up with their own methods of achieving their challenges.
Cheers J 😀😎. 🙏
