Bud Light has faced backlash from both liberals and conservatives over influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s advertisement as the beer label loses its spot as the US' top-selling beer, says Drexel University Associate Professor of Marketing Daniel Korschun.
“There is a boycott element from conservatives – but there’s also an element of more liberal consumers who were bothered by the response that the company has taken to the boycott,” Mr Korschun told Sky News Australia.
“So they’re getting it from both sides and I think that’s one of the reasons we’re seeing such a precipitous drop.”
