For those interested here are some questions we asked the devs:

1) What inspired the game's design?

Elsie was inspired by many different things. Mainly, the game play was inspired by the oldschool action platformers that shaped our youth such as the classic Megaman games, while wanted to give the player more expression in their play. Moderninzing the genre a bit. Then, we added the roguelike spice which the team memebrs are major fan of. Mixing things from Dead Cells, Slay the Spire, Binding of Isaac, and Hades.

2) What aspects of the game are you most proud of?

This might sound like a dumb answer, but we are very proud of all the aspects of the game in different ways. Our gameplay is familiar enough, but with a nice twist we added that makes it feel unique. Our art style is a blend of modern takes on pixel art, with high resolution 2D art pieces and portraits that came out stellar. Our soundtrack is an eclectic blend of different musical styles that our players are going to love. All wrapped around a story that we felt was easy to follow and heartfelt, even though most games in this genre rarely try to even tell a story. We are proud of all these parts of our game, which we have labored very hard to get these things feeling just right.

3) What (in your opinion) differentiates it from other titles?

Our title differentiates itself, I feel, from other titles based on all the qualities from the previous question. Our gameplay is familiar, but with a twist, and tools for player expression not really present in other games of the genre. We put alot of time and focus on crafting our art style, which harkens back to older pixel art games, which not following convential pixel art rules and blending 2D high rez pieces. Every song in our sound track is a certified banger. With all these pieces, we wanted to tell a story, that that players could follow and enjoyed, with most of it voice acted beautifully by our cast.

4) What were the challenges (If any) of developing for the Switch

Developing games is always a challenge. Getting Elsie ported to the Nintendo Switch has been a particular kind of challenge. We overestimated the Switch's graphical capabilities and processor power. It has been a major challenge trying to compress alot of art so that it loads into the Switch properly, and does not tank performance. This has been our main struggle with the system, but I feel we got it to a very good place.
