The Oxford ACS is excited to announce that the fourth Annual Access Conference (AAC) will be taking place this summer!
The AAC is a day-long, free conference designed to support Year 12 students of African and Caribbean descent in making informed, confident and competitive applications to the University of Oxford. Hosting over 140 students in 2016 – with 90% of attendees feeling more likely to apply as a result - the AAC is the largest of the Oxford African and Caribbean Society’s access schemes.
Founded and led directly by undergraduates of African and Caribbean descent, the conference is a platform for sixth form students to engage with relatable insights about applying to and living at Oxford. We intend to debunk misconceptions, and to provide a space for advice that is meaningful and pertinent to those from similar backgrounds and experiences.
Supported by the Oxford Undergraduate Admissions Office (UAO), the AAC also offers teachers from partner schools the opportunity to join workshops helping them to better assist their pupils in making competitive university applications. The AAC hopes to fulfil our ethos of engaging, enhancing and empowering our communities through relevant guidance, and aspirational examples.
