STORYLINE:
Despite the US bombing of the Afghan capital Kabul, daily life continues on the streets of the city.
For those who remain here though, times are increasingly hard.
Food is available but few people can afford more than a small amount and anything but staple food, such as flour, is a luxury.
Despite these hardships food supplies in Kabul itself have not dried up and the townsfolk are not starving.
In between the raids people carry out their business as best they can, with lawyer's offices remaining open and traders moving their wares around the city.
The Taliban's anti-aircraft defences are also visible in the city, a constant reminder, if one were needed, of the threat to the inhabitants.
At the scene of a recent attack emergency services have finished carrying the bodies away.
Although large numbers have fled Kabul many residents remain in the area, despite their houses being completely destroyed.
