Welcome to Part Five of the restoration of Shorty, a 1965 Series IIA Land Rover. In this video, I make the repairs to the passenger side rear chassis rail, and discover that my chassis had been providing accomodation for some local wildlife!
Since failing her last MoT two years ago for excessive chassis corrosion, Shorty had sat in a pile of brambles waiting for the day when she could be brought back to life. At the beginning of this series, I dragged her out of the bushes and started the repairs.
The plan (at the moment) is to make all of the necessary repairs to the chassis that will allow me to get her back into regular use, and then to tackle the rest of the more cosmetic work required as a rolling restoration.
As a little bonus, you can use this video as a drinking game - just have a swig of your favourite beverage (beer, whisky, tea, ribena...) every time I say 'the other side'! But please drink responsibly!
