This is Lesson 11 in the series, and the first of three on DPU. Why three for just one rule? DPU is probably the most misunderstood and badly-conceived rule of all, partly because it was the brainchild of one ICC National Committee pandering to one multi-national company whose staff did not understand the previous DAT. Only scant minutes were given to discussion in the Drafting Group because the concept arose last-minute and time was running out. No discussion was allowed on the real-life ramifications of it, so now you can find out for yourself!
