In 2008 Channel Nine released the smash hit television show Underbelly, recapping the Melbourne gangland war from 1995 when Alphonse Gangitano executed Greg Workman to 2003-2004 with the arrest of Carl Williams and the dissolution of the so called Carlton Crew, with the murder of Mario Condello and alledged ringleader Mick Gatto being the last man standing. Judge Betty King banned the series in Victoria and got off on ordering the media what they could and could not show in light of ongoing court cases, in this case the trial of Auskick murderers Victor Brincatt and Thomas Henshell, out of fear the show would influence the jury. When the ban was lifted Today Tonight could broadcast an interview with Barbara Williams; whose son waged a deadly war that wiped out most of the Moran clan, and Judy Moran who lost both sons friends and had her own husband assassinated.
