STORYLINE
About 100 people attended a vigil in Edinburgh on Thursday evening for the victims of a string of rush hour bombings in London earlier in the day.
The attacks killed at least 37 people and injured 700.
"I'm here tonight to express solidarity, concern and condolences," said Rosie Kane of the Scottish Socialist Party.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair has returned to Scotland for the G8 summit in Gleneagles having been in London where he made an address from Downing Street.
Blair said those behind the attacks had acted in the name of Islam, but that he knew most Muslims worldwide deplored what he called an "act of terrorism."
Blair, the summit's host, vowed the G-8 talks would continue despite the attacks.
In London, the British leader visited the capital's police headquarters and chaired an emergency meeting of a government committee that responds to civil emergencies.
