► Dozens of families in Greater Manchester have had to spend the night with friends or relatives, or even at emergency shelters, after severe flooding forced them to leave their homes.
Police declared a major incident and rescue teams worked all night to deal with damaged houses and stranded vehicles, and many areas are still without electricity.
