Short version.
For a standard replacement damper the Excel-G performs as expected. It does not exceed expectations.
If I wanted to use stock dampers with H&R lowering springs I would prefer to try Sachs Super Touring or Bilstein B4 rather than use the Excel-G again. I think the Excel-G is slightly too soft. Not a bad damper but I think there is more performance to be had without sacrificing too much comfort. Perhaps the Bilstein B4 or Sachs Super Touring are slightly stiffer, I'd take the gamble and try them instead.
For ultimate performance I think Bilstein B8 dampers strike an amazing balance between everyday usability and performance. In my opinion they are worth the extra money over the KYB Excel-G
