My second attempt to share my new reef frag tank. We will take a look at the budget equipment that run the frag tank, and there will be plenty of coral shots throughout the video. Ranging from acropora, to zoanthids, to a lot of LPS coral such as acans, bowerbanki, wilsoni, frogspawn, octospawn, and hammer coral.
The coral frag tank itself is custom built. The reason I chose custom which is not a budget friendly option is because the space itself is quite unique. Because it sits on a raised ledge, I had the stand shortened so that I can easily work in the tank without having to use a step stool. It is 66"w x 24"d x 15"h. I also had the builder include a lightbar that attaches to the stand. This way I do not have to drill any more holes into the ceiling of this room.
The equipment is quite limited because the frag tank is plumbed into the main display tank system. For lighting, I went with the ReefBreeders photon 48v2+. The light provides phenomenal spread, and is amazing value when considering price/coverage. So far, after using it for over a month, the corals have responded positively under this light. That is all the coral, including the zoas, various LPS, and the acropora sps.
Flow consists of the return pump and the Jebao SOW-9. Because of the large amount of LPS in the tank, the flow in has been set not to be too high.
