Side channel pumps can self-degas the suction line and this feature make them suitable for suction lift operation.
Side channel pumps can handle large quantities of (entrained) gas, up to 50%.
These features guarantee continuous operation even in case of evaporation of pumped liquid and therefore contribute to a higher level of safety in industrial processes. The NPSH required by side channel SC MAG-M pumps is very low ( 0,5 m and even lower) due to it special construction. The axial entrance and its larger diameter and special designed centrifugal impeller results in a less disturbed flow and lower friction losses. This makes the SC MAG-M very suitable for pumping liquids close their boiling point at reasonable economic expenses and the low NPSH design allow cavitation free operation.
