Tanzania's government has expelled the top official of the United Nations Development Programme in the country. Its says it ordered Awa Dabo to leave the country because of poor relations with her staff, resulting in the organisation's performance in Tanzania deteriorating. Dabo is a Gambian and the UNDP's country director in the East African state. Tanzania's foreign ministry said the move is to remind the UNDP to work with the government to achieve its development goals. The UNDP is yet to comment.
